  • Whole wheat flour-1 cup
  • Whole wheat flour(for rolling)-1/4 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil-1 tspoon(optional)
  • Luke warm water-1/2 cup-1 tbl spoon

Preparation:

(1) Add salt to the water while heating it. Don't heat too much. Just hand bearable heat is enough. Now add water to the wheat flour and mix well. Initially use spatula to mix and after that use hand to knead. Knead the dough on a plain surface for about 5 to 10 minutes. Make a smooth dough without any cracks. Cover the dough with a wet cloth for about 30 minutes.
(2) After that divide the dough into ball shaped equal parts.

(3) Take one ball shaped dough and press it over the flour which you kept aside for rolling.Press it on both sides which makes the dough as non-sticky while rolling chappathis. Roll the ball into large circles and make chapathi. If it sticks add some flour over it.

(4) Heat a pan. Place the chapathi over it. Lightly sprinkle oil over it.Press over the chapathi with a spoon which helps to puff. Turn over once the color changes. Chapathi ll be ready once it got light golden brown spots on two sides.

Have it with your favorite dish…

Tips:

  • Covering the dough with a wet cloth prevents it from forming cracks.
  • You can add 1 tbl sppon of milk for more softness while kneading.
