Puliserry is a popular dish in kerala. My grandma used to prepare the same with small ripened mangoes. Yum,yum!!!!.Here we won't get such mangoes. I used alphonsa mango.

Ingredients:

Mango(big) 1

Salt to taste

For grinding:

Mustard 1/2 tspoon
Curry leaves 1 pinch

Preparation:

(1) Peel the skin of mango and cut into small cubes.

(2) Boil mango pieces in water(1/2 cup) by adding salt, turmeric powder and green chili (It will cook in minutes). Switch off the flame and keep it aside.

(3) Mean while grind the ingredients shown under "for grinding" using water and make a smooth paste. Once mango is boiled add ground paste to it. Mix well.

(4) To this add curd and salt. Mix well. Make a salt test here. Keep it aside.

(5) Now heat oil in a pan. Season it using the ingredients shown under "for tempering".

(6) Pour the seasoned mixture to the boiled mango pieces. Just heat it. Switch off the flame. Now Mambazha puliserry is ready. Have it with rice....

Tips:

  • Don't overheat the curd. It splits and lose its sourness.
