Puliserry is a popular dish in kerala. My grandma used to prepare the same with small ripened mangoes. Yum,yum!!!!.Here we won't get such mangoes. I used alphonsa mango.
Ingredients:
Mango(big) | 1 |
Curd(thick and sour) | 1/2 cup |
Turmeric powder | 1/4 tspoon |
Green Chilly | 1(chopped) |
Salt | to taste |
For grinding:
Grated coconut | 1/2 cup |
Green chilly | 3 |
Turmeric powder | 1/2 tspoon |
Cumin seeds | 1/2 tspoon |
Garlic | 2 cloves |
For tempering:
Oil | 1 tspoon |
Cumin Seeds | 1/4 tspoon |
Dry redchilly | 2 |
Mustard | 1/2 tspoon |
Curry leaves | 1 pinch |
Preparation:
(1) Peel the skin of mango and cut into small cubes.
(2) Boil mango pieces in water(1/2 cup) by adding salt, turmeric powder and green chili (It will cook in minutes). Switch off the flame and keep it aside.
(3) Mean while grind the ingredients shown under "for grinding" using water and make a smooth paste. Once mango is boiled add ground paste to it. Mix well.
(6) Pour the seasoned mixture to the boiled mango pieces. Just heat it. Switch off the flame. Now Mambazha puliserry is ready. Have it with rice....
Tips:
- Don't overheat the curd. It splits and lose its sourness.
